Marketing Specialist

The Role

We are looking for a full time Marketing Specialist to join the Tourwriter marketing team. The marketing function is made up of a team of 4 passionate individuals working across the business: from product development to sales, including investors relationships. The Marketing Specialist will play an integral role in handling day-to-day marketing activities including social media management, content creation and other digital marketing activities relating to our suite of software solutions.

Tourwriter is a privately owned, Wellington based, New Zealand tech company. Our Tour Operator Software is designed for the specific needs and business pains of Inbound Tour Operators and Destination Management Companies. The problems we solve for our customers can be grouped into 3 segments: Speed (Tourwriter helps to deliver quotes and itineraries fast), Accuracy (Tourwriter eliminates the potential for pricing mistakes and typos) and Business Management (Tourwriter streamlines travel business data to enable informed business decisions).

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining our social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram)
  • Writing and preparing email campaigns and building and maintaining automated nurture journeys (aka drip campaigns) as required
  • Researching and writing content including but not limited to blogs, customer stories, media releases and eBooks
  • Creating graphics (using Photoshop and/or Canva)
  • Work alongside other members of the marketing team to maintain and build pages our various websites (all hosted on Wordpress)

 

An ideal candidate for this role will

  • Hold a Marketing Bachelor’s Degree or a relevant Commerce or Psychology Degree
  • Have at least 2 years previous work experience in digital and product marketing
  • Possess and enjoy the art of excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have experience in the use of the Adobe suite products; specifically Photoshop
  • Be passionate about the importance of a healthy and well maintained CRM that contributes to the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
  • Ideally have previous experience with WordPress websites and will be able to confidently build pages and load posts. A broad understanding of HTML and CSS is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Have a broad understanding of SEO
  • Enjoy working across functions and with a variety of teams within the company
